Eco calculator

RSC is pleased to have on its Internet site, jointly with Voies Navigables de France "EVE" the first eco calculator able to evaluate the external costs, i.e. the nuisances produced by each active citizen (pollution, noises, etc.).

This tool will concretely show the environmental and socio-economical advantages of river transportation.

In 2006 the volume carried by combined transport on French territory prevented the emission of 786 000 tons of C0²
and the circulation of 959 000 trucks.

The assets of combined transport

For the same greenhouse gas emission, inland waterways travelled distance increase by a factor 6
in relation to truck distance.
